Reply with quote | #1 | I went to a favorite spot 90 miles form home Friday and arrived at my destination just to find a sign posted at the trail head that read "trail closed due to prescribed burn area". I was just there 6 days be for and gathered a little over 3 pounds of blacks and half-frees. I went to the forest office and they showed me the area on the map where they was burning.( right in my favorite secret spot) They was to finish the next day, what they called "mopping up" and the area would be open by the beginning of the week. I had expected to at least double the amount of morels found on the last trip and finding all types by this time of the season. My question is... will this burn affect the rest of this season or will I have a chance of finding Morels if I go back to the area in a few days? Any information would be helpful. Thanks! Terry |
